Peru Strengthens its Leadership in Organic Products with Successful Participation at Biofach 2025
SIPPO once again supported Peru's participation at Biofach 2025, the world's most important organic trade fair, held from February 11 to 14 in Germany. Special emphasis was placed on capacity-building for first-time participating exporters of Amazonian Brazil nuts.

Germany witnessed Peru's outstanding performance at Biofach 2025, where a delegation of 28 Peruvian companies, led by PROMPERÚ, not only reaffirmed the country's position as a key supplier of sustainable foods but also secured commercial projections exceeding USD 50 million for the next 12 months, far surpassing initial expectations.
Peru's participation stood out for its diverse, high-quality offerings, featuring products with organic and fair-trade certifications that ensure sustainability and traceability. Among the most sought-after items were quinoa, maca, fresh ginger, bananas, native potatoes, dried fruits, green coffee, chocolate and cocoa derivatives, as well as natural ingredients for the cosmetics industry. This variety captured the attention of European buyers, who are increasingly interested in healthy, responsibly produced foods.
A significant milestone was the presence of Amazonian Brazil nut exporters, who, with support from SIPPO and Conservación Amazónica – ACCA, participated in the prestigious fair for the first time. Companies such as RONAP, ASCART, Shiwi, and Candela showcased the potential of this Peruvian product to international buyers and distributors, generating growing interest in key markets.
SIPPO played a crucial role in these companies' success by providing training before and during the fair on topics such as export offer analysis, buyer identification, marketing strategies, and the preparation of unique selling propositions (USPs). This support ensured that Brazil nut exporters were better prepared to maximize business opportunities.
The rising European demand for organic and fair-trade foods presents a major opportunity for Peru. According to studies by Innova Market Insights and Deutsche Welle, meat consumption in Europe has declined by 20% over the past decade, while preference for plant-based and functional foods continues to rise. This trend reinforces the potential of Peruvian superfoods and sustainable products in the global market.
Peru's successful participation at Biofach 2025 not only solidifies its role as a relevant player in the global organic industry but also lays the foundation for further growth in demanding markets. With the backing of institutions like PROMPERÚ, SIPPO, and ACCA, Peruvian companies continue to strengthen their capabilities and expand their presence in Europe.
The path forward remains open, and the challenge now is to maintain this momentum by focusing on differentiation, added value, and targeted market access strategies, all while upholding the principles of sustainability and traceability—aspects increasingly valued by European consumers. Without a doubt, Biofach 2025 marked a milestone for Peruvian exports, proving that the country is ready to keep conquering the world with products that combine quality, tradition, and innovation.
